Epiphany

I’m a riddle wrapped in rhyme

Don’t attempt to quantify

The true nature of my strife

You don’t know about my life

Or the trouble I have seen

You don’t know my misery

Or the measure of my pain

You don’t comprehend my shame

You don’t fathom the abyss

Or the rugged precipice

I’m a riddle wrapped in rhyme

And the mountain that I climb

Is a monumental peak

But I’m bigger than my grief

Suffering has been my name

Tribulation’s been my bane

But I’ve learned to look ahead

Rise above the path I tread

I am stronger than you think

Though I’m poised upon the brink

I’m a riddle wrapped in rhyme

Hindsight’s vision is sublime

Here my view is vast and broad

High above that yawning maw

From this jagged crag I see

Wisdom’s misty mysteries

Now I know success is sweet

When the pinnacle is steep

Victory has a thrilling sound

When you stand above the clouds

I’m a riddle wrapped in rhyme

For I’m happy all the time

From my vantage unsurpassed

History recedes at last

Far beyond the peaks of pain

Heaven’s heights are my domain

Guilt no longer burdens me

Standing straight, I’m finally free

Jubilation fills my soul

Overcoming made me whole
